Shelf-ish

I'm an hour early for a graduation ceremony so I'll take advantage of the free internet and do some writing. I was just practicing the speech I'm about to deliver to a group of grade 6 students graduating from elementary school.  I got all choked up at the end of it, because the more times I read it, the more times I remember to take my own advice. My closing words are be more you.  Be MORE you.  (That's not mine, that's Gabrielle Bernstein's, but it belongs to all of us now.) The 3 months since I moved into my new place have blown by like a lifealanche.  Suddenly it's summer, Fringe, grad season, prom season, I'm days away from vacation and I feel like I'm being swallowed up whole.  Almost done, almost done,  I keep telling myself, and I'll get there, but a week and a half left of work feels like an eternity right now.  It's autopilot season, and that's the worst place to be.
